Raleigh County Attractions Open & Operating With New Regulations

Whether you are looking forward to relaxing by a lake or shopping for local goods made by a West Virginia artisan, Raleigh County has a number of great attractions to help you get out of the house and enjoy your summer. While the safety of our residents and our visitors is top priority, the following attractions have reopened with new regulations to ensure they are following state guidelines. 

Lake Stephens

One of the best places to cool off and relax in the sunshine, Lake Stephens, is open. The lake, along with the splash pad and aqua park, has reopened with reduced capacity for certain features. For the most up-to-date information, visit their website or Facebook page. 

Tamarack: The Best Of West Virginia

Tamarack is filled with unique items and artwork from local West Virginia artisans. It is also known for its authentic Appalachian cuisine. Tamarack is currently open from 10 am – 6 pm, Tuesday through Sunday with dining times available throughout each day. Tamarack has also begun hosting smaller events, so be sure to check out their event calendar. Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine

The Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine has opened for its 58th season! Due to covid-19, underground tours will not be happening just yet, you can still experience the tour through a video recording with guides available to answer your questions. The small mine museum, coal camp, Youth Museum and the Mountain Homestead are also open. The Youth Museum is currently hosting the exhibition, Curious George: Let’s Get Curious. Little Beaver State Park and Grandview

Get outside and explore the natural beauty of Raleigh County! At Little Beaver State Park, you can rent paddleboats or fish in the 18-acre lake. Over at Grandview, take in the amazing sites at one of the many overlooks, or explore miles of hiking trails along the rim of the gorge. 

Golfing in Raleigh County

Beckley-Raleigh County is home to a number of golf courses, all of which have adjusted their operations to align with the regulations around social distancing and limiting interaction during this pandemic.
