As the leaves begin to transition from green to shades of red, orange and yellow, the Beckley Raleigh area comes to life with fall events and festivals. From chili cook-offs to spooky festivals, there’s something for everyone this fall in Raleigh County.

Rocket Boys October Sky Festival
September 27 – 28
Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine
This annual festival will be held in Beckley for the eighth consecutive year. Held in past years in Coalwood, WV (where Homer Hickam and the Rocket Boys grew up) the event will be staged at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine/New River Park and various other venues in the area.

Pumpkin Harvest Festival
October 5 – 6
United Methodist Church
Pumpkin Harvest Festival – games, contests, demonstrations, horse and wagon rides, crafts, live music, great food including kettle corn. Pumpkins for sell and fun for all ages.
Live Concert at The Raleigh
October 5, 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm
The Raleigh is proud to host experimental pop band Man Man with supporters GRLwood. Pre-sale tickets are $13, door tickets on day of show are $17.
Man Man is a highly revered, avant-garde rock band born out of the weird streets of Philadelphia and now brewing in the even weirder sunshine of Los Angeles. The band sounds nothing like but is frequently compared to some of the more well-known godfathers of the genre, Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa, Can, and The Residents.
Beckley’s Annual Chili Night
October 5
Downtown Beckley
The 29th Annual Beckley Chili Night! Taste and judge the variety of great chili on hand for this fun festival. Live entertainment. From 5 – 9 p.m. along Main, Heber and Neville Streets in Uptown Beckley. Admission is $5 (5 tickets plus people’s choice coin). Chili served from 5-8pm or until participants run out!

Tailgate Halloween

Beckley Intermodal Gateway
11am to 1pm. This annual event brings out 40 plus businesses and organizations to give out safe trick-or-treats. Rain or shine.
