The Garth Newell Music Center was founded in 1973 and is a year-round chamber music venue situated in the heart of Virginia’s Allegheny Mountains, presenting over 50 concerts throughout the year, many performed by their resident ensemble, The Garth Newel Piano Quartet. The Center seeks to share, promote, explore and celebrate the infinite variety of chamber music in an intimate setting of natural beauty through high-quality performances by their resident Piano Quartet. Though most of the concerts are classical chamber music, they also perform a number of jazz and blues concerts throughout the year.

The Garth Newel Piano Quartet (Teresa Ling – Violin, Evelyn Grau – Viola, Isaac Melamed – Cellist, Jeannette Fang – Pianist) is known for their spirited and impassioned performances that offer an enlivened interpretation of both standard and new repertoire. As artists-in-residence at Garth Newel Music Center, one of the premier and most active chamber music organizations in the United States, they program and perform over 50 concerts each year, engaging with audiences through conversational and interactive programs. They have performed throughout the United States and on five continents, at such prominent venues as Carnegie Hall, Strathmore Hall, The Chautauqua Institution, and the San Diego Chamber Music Workshop.

This engagement of Garth Newel Piano Quartet is made possible through the Special Presenter Initiatives program of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the West Virginia Division of Culture and History.
