On Saturday, August 29, the drive-in Music in the Park will include a session by Shane Ingram at the park shelter from 5:15-5:45 pm, and then Jim Snyder will perform on the stage from 6-7 pm. A few food vendors may be serving concessions between 5:00-7:00 pm. Only 36 car spots will be available at the drive-in event – free car passes can be picked up in advance at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine (open Wed-Sunday 10-5). Attendees should stay with their vehicles during the show, unless visiting concessions where they need to wear a mask and social distance. Funding support for the event from the WV Fairs & Festivals Irish Heritage Festival fund. The August 28-29 weekend was the original dates for the Appalachian Festival. The Appalachian Festival had to be cancelled, with the Makers Market being postponed until October. If this Music in the Park goes well, more may be planned in the future
