Beckley’s annual Kids Classic Festival celebrates youth with affordable and fun activities, games, contests and entertainment for families to enjoy together.  Various events throughout the week culminate in a uptown kids fair and parade on the last Saturday(8th)

Enjoy a fun week of activities celebrating with our youth!
2024 Theme: Get Creative with STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, or Math.
Tentative Schedule:
Monday, Sept. 2 (Labor Day): Beckley Little League: Home Run Derby (ages 8 & up) registration begins at 5:30 pm, derby starts at 6 pm (rain date: Sunday, Sept. 8, 4 pm). $5 entry fee, hosting with WV Wolfpack team offering concessions.
Tuesday-Saturday, Sept. 3-7: Leisure Lanes – One free game of bowling & shoe rental per child when accompanied by a paying adult, 10am–9pm, call for lane availability 304-253-7328.
Friday, Sept. 6: Youth Museum & Exhibition Mine, 6-8pm, FunnyBones Magic Show & Balloons 6-7 pm at the amphitheater; Inside Youth Museum: New exhibit: How Things Work, + Planetarium Show; Exhibition Mine tours; Admission for inside the Youth Museum & the Mine Tour = $5.
Saturday, Sept. 7: Kids Fest Street Fair-10 am–2 pm – Booths, games, activities & food vendors along Main & Fayette Streets, Federal Plaza/Shoemaker Square.
-Beckley Fire Dept.’s Junior Firefighters Challenge (Fayette St, beside the courthouse)
-United Bank Carnival Showcase (game band = $5 to play games, $5 to spin the prize wheel)
-Festival Parade at 11 am – Characters/mascots, bagpipers, bands, dancers, teams, royalty, plus youth are welcome to wear costumes in the parade. Theme: Get Creative with Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and/or Math.
-Cincinnati Circus – shows at noon and 1:15 pm – Federal Plaza. Co-sponsor: WV Division of Arts, Culture, & History grant.
-Cookie Stacking Contest with 103CIR (register teams of two between 10 am and noon; drawing for teams announced at 12:30. Competition at 12:45. Federal Plaza, Heber St.
