The Beckley Art Center is calling for Black & White photography highlighting West Virginia, in all its forms, for our 2021 BW-WV exhibition.

This photography exclusive exhibition is open to all points of view, all levels of expertise, and all ideas of black and white photography. We encourage artists to cast aside the color spectrum and focus on the visual power of black, white, and the tones in between. Wv has a beautifully diverse and dream-like landscape, with interesting faces, spaces, people, and places. We welcome all forms of photography for this exhibition, including but not limited to portraiture, landscape, contemporary, narrative, action, editorial or architectural. We just ask that whatever is submitted is based in or on Wv people, places, landscapes, or environments. This exhibition was created with the intent to deeply focus on the subjects, textures, shapes and patterns, and compositions that are created with B&W photography.

Exhibition Dates: August 17 – October 16, 2021  (Tuesday – Saturday)

FREE for BAC Members 

$15 for Non-Members 

Entry Deadline: August 23, 2021 

Please complete the Entry Form and send images of artwork gallery@beckleyartcenter.com by 11:59 pm on August 23rd.

Each entry may include up to 4 submissions of photographic images. Artists may send multiple entries. When submitting photographs digitally, please label each file: Name_Title_entry #

*For example: Montague_BlueMoon_1

All submitted works must be original and created within the last three (3) years. Artwork previously exhibited in an exhibition in BAC’s Dan & Cynthia Bickey Art Gallery is ineligible and will not be considered.

All artwork must be for sale. Artwork is sold on commission with 60% to Artist and $40% to Beckley Art Center. If you do not want to sell artwork, please do not submit and set an exorbitant price to discourage sales.

Due to space limitations, large or multi-piece artwork may not be accepted. Be sure to include the sizes of each submission!
