It’s Friday (Friday in the Park) – now that is a good reason to dance!
Fridays in the Park on June 17 will feature local country musician Billy Payne. The West Virginia Department of Agriculture and the West Virginia Beef Council will be on hand offering free beef samples part of their “Beef for Father’s Day” tour. Active Southern WV will offer activities. The concert series is held weekly from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., through September 2nd, weather-permitting, at Word Park on Neville Street. Food vendors offer lunch items for sale. Entertainment on June 24 will be Heaven’s Harmony and the United Way of Southern WV will be reading books to children.
Beckley Events’ Annual June Motorcycle & Car Show will be held on Saturday, June 25th along Neville & Main Streets from 5 – 8 p.m. The streets will be reserved for show line-up beginning at 5 pm with vehicle registration from 5 – 6 pm. The vehicle entry fee is $15 and the first 70 registered will receive a t-shirt. Everyone is invited to visit the show, check out the vehicles & enjoy free entertainment & activities. Live music by Randy Gilkey will be offered from 5:30 – 7:30 pm, followed by a specialty awards presentation. Several food vendors will be on hand and children’s activities will be available. Also that evening, The Raleigh Playhouse & Theatre will feature the movie “Grease”.
